Francis is Nourrissier died
It happened yesterday Tuesday, February 15, 2011. He was 83 and suffered from Parkinson's disease, which forced him to withdraw from all public life in 2008.
I remember him mostly for his television appearances during the Goncourt Prize in particular but also for his latest book that really touched me. In
"Fire Water" Indeed, he recounts the last moments of his alcoholic wife and he was not kind! He described the hardest reality without hiding anything and he does not spare himself by accusing the neglect of his marriage. Lucidity, he wielded like a scalpel. It is a fact hard, very hard, but also a beautiful book, a great testimony to the end of a couple's life and the distress that we drown in alcohol.
Just for this book I feel the admiration and respect for the courage it took the author to write it.
